I recently got a new road biking helmet and I got to try it out this evening after work, riding the hills of Hungry Hollow and Rock Glen, just outside of Thedford and Arkona. It was a great ride and I love my new helmet, it fits like a glove!

My Mum is back from her trip and thankfully was able to come to Claire's soccer game so that I could go to the parent's JK meeting at her new school. Rather than driving back home, she stayed the night which gave me the opportunity to get up early this morning and go for a bike ride. It was nice to be out so early, the air was cooler and there was hardly any wind. However, there must have been alot of pollen in the air, because at one point I could hardly see out of one eye because it was watering so bad. Note to self. Take one of these before heading out into the countryside.

April 1, 2012
I've been working nights and the girls have been spending the weekend at Oma's. Having some time to myself this afternoon, I hopped on my road bike and went for a ride. It was a chilly one and my toes were pretty cold by the time I got back. I'm going to blame the colder temperature on my cold legs and their lackluster performance. Really, I probably just need to get in better shape... This is a picture of my bike computer. It measures my heartrate, speed, km's and cadence (how fast my legs are pedalling). Today I didn't like what it was telling me, must not have been working properly... because the numbers were either way to high (HR) or too slow (speed). April fools? Sadly no.
